For a proper fit, the halters noseband should rest midway up the bridge of the nose and should allow several inches of room below the jaw.

The halter should fit snugly around the throatlatch. If adjustment is required, simply grasp above and below the fiador knot (knot connecting the lead loops and the rest of the halter) and push your hands together. Once the fiador knot is loosened, you can pull the slack from or to the lead loops for a larger or smaller noseband.

To attach your lead rope to the halter, simply tie a sheetbend knot. The knot is very easy to tie, and is shown in the photo to the right.

NOTE: In most cases, an adult horse halter should properly fit a typical (quarter horse type) mature horse without adjustment.
